Basketmouth: Nigerian Comedian

Ghana. Tanzania. Zambia. Kenya. Nigerian comedian Bright “Basketmouth” Okpocha has headlined shows across Africa. Now, he is bringing his unique brand of funny to Chicago for performances at the DuSable Museum of African American History and Laugh Factory Chicago. In 2015, Basketmouth became the first Nigerian comic to have his own dedicated TV special, performing in Comedy Central Presents Basketmouth – Lord of the Ribs. He has also hosted MTV Base’s The Big Friday Show and performed at comedy festivals such as the Just For Laughs festival. His latest live show, The Son of Peter, comes to the U.S. this summer. Ahead of his local shows, Basketmouth joins Worldview to talk about his rise to fame and how he makes people laugh.
