The lack of minutes and opportunities have tested ’s patience. The is said to have asked Real Madrid to facilitate his departure for the winter market, on loan.

The Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard is not suffering from any injury that will prevent him from playing in Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey debut against Alcoyano this Wednesday and, according to sources at the club, he has requested a loan to make himself useful again.

Odegaard does not feel valued by Zinedine Zidane and has grown tired of waiting for opportunities. The lack of minutes, injuries and not having continuity when he has participated with Real Madrid after his return to the club last summer mean that the player has asked to leave on a loan.

His latest experience of success in the Real Sociedad makes Odegaard think that at 22 years old he needs to play matches to not stagnate his growth. This is what he has conveyed to Real Madrid, requesting a departure before the winter market closes.

Since his return to Madrid in a year without any signings and where a greater role was expected, Odegaard has not played any complete match. He has played 368 minutes, participating in nine of the 25 official matches played by Real Madrid, with only five starts.

Odegaard has played just five minutes, against Celta, in the last two months.

Real Madrid are not overly confident in their midfielders and have been surprised by the player’s request, according to ‘EFE’.

The great performance of Luka Modric, the consistency of the midfield and Zidane’s commitment to the Uruguayan Fede Valverde as the first midfield refresher, has been diminishing Odegaard’s prominence to the point of provoking his desire to leave.
