Roman Abramovich could bring Avram Grant back to Chelsea… but not to replace Frank Lampard as manager

The ex-Blues boss – who replaced Jose Mourinho on a caretaker basis in the 2007/08 season and guided Chelsea to the Champions League final – is being lined up to return to Stamford Bridge to assist Lampard.

Lampard, who played under Grant, is under pressure right now on the back of a poor run, with Chelsea winning only one of their past six Premier League matches.

And Sky Sports say Abramovich is considering bringing Grant back to support Lampard during this tough time.
